Codex, the stunning debut novel from Adrian Dawson, is the fast paced thriller which seamlessly blends uniquely heretical religious theories with the latest in computer technology and then blends the result with innovative artificial intelligence in a story that spans - and threatens - the entire globe.
Codex stormed the iBookstore in the UK on its release and, despite the chart being updated half-hourly, it has maintained a Top 20 position in Mysteries and Thrillers for over 22 weeks - heavily outselling the likes of Dean Koontz, Mark Billingham, Ian Rankin and Michael Connelly. By the end of 2010, Codex was the highest selling full length thriller on the UK iBookstore, and with good reason. For a debut novel, Codex’s success in the digital realm is unprecedented - and now it is available in high quality print!

It is a lie.
Having been summoned via a strangely coded message to a meeting with a man referring to himself only as ‘Simon’, Jack is made aware that his daughter had been leaving a lot more than her new life behind. She had also been leaving a secret… one that had been building for centuries and one which a global group of corporations will stop at nothing to protect.
It soon becomes apparent that Lara Bernstein’s life and death had been planned in detail. She was chosen to become part of an ever-expanding group and her selection was a direct result of her father’s company’s near-perfection of the one thing they need - true artificial intelligence - computer systems capable of cracking the most complex codal system known to man.
Slowly, Jack Bernstein is being drawn into a global game of chess, one in which he has been an unwitting pawn for over a decade.
To keep him in the game they have already killed his wife and now his daughter. When the game is over, they will kill a whole lot more unless Jack can find the one thing he is reluctant to believe exists…
Utilising extensive research of both the oldest technology in the world and the latest, Codex is a gripping thriller which is fast paced, packed with new and exciting theories, cutting edge science and a conclusion that will blow your mind.
Codex is now in high quality paperback and all eBook formats!

CODEX IS NOW THE #1 SELLING FULL-LENGTH THRILLER ON THE UK iBOOKSTORE 2010!!
As we reach the end of 2010, Apple have published iTunes Rewind which shows the best books in Fiction and Non-Fiction of 2010. On the iPad, one is offered the choice of viewing these books by “All Time Bestsellers” and, when you do, “Codex” comes in at #7 out of almost 300,000 books! What’s more, the only two Thrillers which charted higher than Codex were Peter James‘ “A Perfect Murder” and Dean Koontz‘ “Darkness Under The Sun” (which was offered FREE for the last few months!)- both of which are short stories, making “Codex” the Top Selling Full Length Thriller on the UK iBookstore of 2010...
Ah, I hear you say, Jodi Picoult’s “Picture Perfect” is also in the “Mysteries and Thrillers” Section and it charted higher than “Codex”. True, it charted higher and many congratulations to Jodi, but the novel was only recategorised as “Mysteries and Thrillers” AFTER the charts were released, presumably in an attempt by Hodder & Stoughton to take the Top Selling Full Length Thriller position from “Codex” (as it was always going to be placed at #2 in the “Fiction and Literature” section, having been beaten by David Nicholls’ very fine novel: “One Day”.
Here’s how “Picture Perfect” looked before it was recategorised (at which point “Codex” was rated at #5 (#7 or #5, we’re very, very happy!!)...
